Gang, you don't want to miss this one. Pro ski tournament in downtown Milwaukee ( I tested the pond last year if you recall). Looks like all the stars will be there. I'll be there Fri/Sat, hope to hook up with some CCFANs there. Milwaukee Pro Event

I love these kinds of public sites for elite events, The scores for man made ski lakes are usually higher, but the crowds and excitement are higher for theses downtown public events. I think this is the kind of atmosphere that water skiing should be targeting, ideally a site like this becoming connected with some type of Festival annually would be great.

Can't wait! Joel, are you bringing a crew up with you? I'm going to be there with a few fellow ski team alums. PM me your cell and we can try to meet up!

Found out that my Mom has been telling her friends that I'm participating in the Malibu Open, LOL. Now that's funny Mom. I couldn't even run an opening pass there! Thanks anyway Mom!

That is funny stuff. I'm sure I'd blow the deep water start of my opening pass. At this point it looks like we're going on Saturday...never been to a pro event so it should be a good time indeed.

Sitting with Joel right now. Just watched Jamie B post a 2@41 to take the lead. Awesome!

So what's the story on the controversy at the finals?

Jamie runs 39. Waits in the water for Will. Will falls at 3. JB takes victory ride to dock, pumps fist, does 360. Will says boat was going 28. Takes re-ride and nails 39, then 1@41. JB is already done skiing so he declines to go back out.

I didn't notice the boat going THAT slow, but I could've just been caught up in the excitement. I do know Will was a mile early to 3 ball (he actually dropped after rounding 4). Jamie's time @ 1 ball was 1.70. Will's was 1.84. Guess they were messing with the speed control and most of the skiers had opted to run the boats at 35.5 MPH.
Talked to both Will and Jamie about it at the after-party and they were both cool about it but neither had a definitive answer about what exactly went down. Personally, I think after seeing Will run 41, that was essentially the championship run for me. Amazing!
