I had some nice conditions yesterday morning and ran 22 off at 34 for the first time this season. I ran it last year for the very first time on Sept. 27th and then a few more times before the season ended. So I'm pretty happy about this.

I'd still like to be more consistent with the 34 mph pass though as I'm still only making it about 50% of the time.

Sounds good, 3 months

Sounds good, 3 months earlier, expecting big things this year.

Awesome!

That's so cool.  Whenever I shorten the rope, the first thing I say is, "now I feel like a real skier."

Everything about rope

Everything about rope shortening is awesome. That 15-off line is really, really, really long! Congrats.

skiing in Toronto

T from TO - I also live in Toronto.  I was wondering where you usually ski, and if you know any places to ski in the Toronto area.  I have skied occasiuonally at Summerski, which is a great facility, but it is quite far from my house.  I live downtown (Pape/Danforth area).  Thoughts?

Thanks

Jon

Jon, I am not far from you:

Jon, I am not far from you: kingston/main. Myself and T both ski at summerski, my first as a member. Previous seasons I skied at mcclintocks, and there is nowhere closer to the city than summerski, though we could all likely sell our homes and dig a lake somewhere!

ok thanks.  That's what I thought, although I was hoping there could be something closer.  Perhaps I will see you at Summerski one day...

Cheers.

Did you ever notice that when you watch a beginner course skier ski the course, their ski bobbles 3 times over the wake? One bobble in, one bobble over the hump, and one bobble out. When you watch a more capable skier, they have one bump, and they are done and onto the buoy. My skiing usually looks like the 3-bobbles-over-the-wake technique, the worst being the 2nd "trough" that comes right after... Read more

You may know Rodrigo Andai only as "RAL" from TheWaterSkiForum.com, but after this latest installment of the "Regular Joe Interview" series you'll definitely know more about him than that. Rodrigo has given me some good advice over the years as a Fifteenoff.com reader so I asked him to do Regular Joe Interview #4. He said he'd be happy to do it if it would help anyone out with their own slalom... Read more

I'll be upgrading my old shaft seal/stuffing box to an OJ dripless seal system this spring. The kit comes with the seal itself, a rubber bellows that connects the seal to your existing shaft log, a tee connector to tap into your raw water supply as well as a length of clear tubing to deliver water to the shaft seal. My kit also came with a shaft installation tool which prevents any threading on... Read more

(Above: Jason had trouble getting his slippers off in the morning)Over the years Seth Stisher has become a fan favorite here at fifteenoff.com.  Most of us have been exposed to him either through his articles in Waterski Magazine or his screen time in popular waterski videos like Edged in Water, Momentum and Evolve.I guess a part of the history of Seth’s connection with this site...
