(Above: It's hard to look "professional" at work while walking around in one of these.)
Wednesday morning I saw my surgeon and got my surgical cast off.
(hallelujah chorus)
I have to admit, I was kind of expecting to throw on my tennis shoe (do you call them "sneakers"?) and head off for my day. Silly rabbit, trix are for kids.
Instead, I get to wear this blessed contraption for the next week or two until my ankle is strong enough to stand on its own. (I can limp around, but I’m pretty unstable).
I’ve never really had surgery before, so this is all new to me. My ankle is really stiff! I had my first PT session yesterday and after the Therapist loosened it up I could walk in an almost normal manner.
I have 4 weeks (8 sessions) of PT which takes me to April 4th. I have my follow up visit with the surgeon on April 11th. I’m leaving to go ski with Seth on April 12th (fingers crossed). Nothing like cutting it close.
Right now the regimen is just stretching, therapy bands, icing, and ibuprofen. Wish me luck!

Cast off - Boot on Hi
Hi Anthony,
I wore the same boot for 4 months (aug to dec). It's very tough to recover fitness for me because I have a lot of fractures in left foot. I'm looking for new bindings because I don't want to use my HO Approach again since my accident. I'm sure they are the reason of my injury.
I'm looking for Radar Strada '12. What do you think about this bindings ? Is it better if I'm buying hardshell boots like Goode Powershell ?
Good luck to you
