Don't be fooled with trademark locks, smooth skiing and "aw shucks" persona off the water - K.C. Wilson is a serious competitior and is sure to make some noise on the Men's Pro seen in a very short time.  After winning his second Jr. Masters title in Slalom, K.C. Wilson took some time to answer some questions for 15off.com

K.C. is a Radar sponsored athlete and skis on the Chris Rossi designed Radar Strada.  He is also sponsored by Nautiques, Performance Ski & Surf, H2Osmosis and Oneill.  You can check out his website at thewilsonbros.com and follow them on Twitter @The_Wilson_Bros

15off - K.C. you not only won the Jr. Masters, you also set the course record - you have to be feeling pretty good about your skiing right now.

KC - It feels really good, but first of all I just want to give glory to God.  He is my strength in all this.  A lot of hard work went into this, but it was fun.  I set the record 3 years ago and the last two have been a bit rough.  It was great great to tie the record and then break it.  I couldn’t ask for it to work out any better.

15off - Everyone talks about how tough it can be to ski at Robin Lake, but it seemed like pretty you had pretty good conditions out there today.  How would you describe the conditions?

KC - It’s definitely tough, [the water] is definitely uneven.  You look out there and say, “oh man it looks nice, it’s glass”.  But a little wind helps push the water around and I had that in the second round.  The first round was a little rough, just rolly wise so you definitely have to focus on keeping the ski underneath you and keep with it.

15off- Now you have a special relationship with your brother, and you guys are doing a tour and some coaching together - talk about that some.

KC - My brother, Brooks, supports me and we love coaching, we love skiing and we love helping others so if we can do that together it’s a bonus.  You can check us out on thewilsonbrothers.com.  Brooks does a lot of work on the site, with videos and new information but we try to use it to keep the sport alive.

15off - So who is your coach now?  You are with Radar skis now, has that given you access to other coaches that you haven’t had in the past?

KC - Actually I ski with my brother Brooks at home mostly.  My parents drive.  I do also get to ski with Chris Rossi and with Chet Raley so that helps me switch things up and work on my own technique by getting different perspectives.

15off - So what’s in your skiing future?  Are you planning on skiing in college?

KC - This is senior year of high school.  My graduation ceremony is tonight but I’m going to miss because I’m here.  I’m going to Florida Southern College in Lakeland it’s about an hour from my home.  I’m going to keep skiing, pushing, do some pro events, work hard and chase the pros who are at the top of their game.  I want to push myself to be the best I can be.

Is the idea of heading to Louisiana for a long weekend all by yourself at ski school somewhat crazy? No, as it turns out, not really. Well, kinda. But still.I remember when I first booked the flight, sometime in early October. That was after Beth and I had casually talked about how it would kinda be neat for me to shoot down to Bennett's to extend the season a little bit (she would have... Read more

Let me paint a scene for you: It's 06:30AM. You woke up at 05:30AM, pressed the snooze bar a couple times, prepped the boat with gear and trailered it to the lake. You're groggy, but a stop at the gas station for coffee and some gas for the boat helps. Friends are waiting at the ramp, and you don't want to be late regardless of how late you stayed up the night before. The lake is glass. No wind,... Read more

That's what a really broken rib bone looks like. The reason it's probably so displaced, I'm guessing, is because I did a trick set AFTER breaking it, which must have pulled it apart a bit. The pain has subsided somewhat, but all everyday movements are a challenge, especially dressing and sleeping. If the pain wasn't enough, the near-constant clicking of the bones as I breathe and... Let me open this post by apologizing for taking so long to get these videos up. I won't bore you with the details but we had a few technical difficulties which caused a delay in bringing this footage to our viewers- mainly my Mac not wanting to import Anthony's video. Our own site member Anthony Warren (ScarletArrow) was nice enough to fly to Georgia and film these interviews with a few of the... Read more
